Classroom Renovation and Construction - EPP Fologo 2

Côte d'Ivoire
|
Quartier Frefredou sud

Problem/ Context

The school’s two buildings are unfinished and dilapidated; they have 4 and 2 classrooms, respectively, for a total enrollment of 357 students. There are more than 65 students per class. The desks and benches are broken and insufficient. Three or more students sit on each bench instead of two.

Detailed project description

The classrooms are unfinished, and the roof is damaged and leaks when it rains.

The classrooms, designed to accommodate an average of 40 students, are overcrowded, and the school also turned away students at the start of the school year due to lack of space.

Description: Completing the two unfinished buildings—one with four classrooms and the other with two—will boost teachers’ enthusiasm and motivation to share their knowledge and enable students to learn in good conditions. Purchasing new desks and benches will help reduce the shortage of seating in the classrooms, allowing students to sit in pairs during lessons.
